Used For:

Duloxetine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) used to treat:

• Depression (Major Depressive Disorder - MDD)
• Anxiety (Generalized Anxiety Disorder - GAD)
• Nerve pain (Diabetic neuropathy, Fibromyalgia, Chronic musculoskeletal pain)
• Chronic pain conditions (such as osteoarthritis and lower back pain)

Side Effects:

Common Side Effects:

• Nausea, vomiting
• Dry mouth
• Drowsiness or fatigue
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Sweating
• Loss of appetite
• Constipation

Serious Side Effects:

• Increased blood pressure
• Liver damage (especially in alcohol users)
• Serotonin syndrome (when combined with other serotonergic drugs; symptoms include confusion, rapid heart rate, and sweating)
• Suicidal thoughts (especially in young adults during the first weeks of use)
