Used For:

  1. Herpes Simplex Virus Infections:

    • Genital Herpes: To treat outbreaks, reduce symptoms, and decrease the frequency of recurrences.
    • Cold Sores (Herpes Labialis): To treat and shorten the duration of cold sores.
    • Herpes Simplex Encephalitis: For severe infections affecting the brain.

  2. Herpes Zoster (Shingles): To treat shingles and reduce the pain and complications associated with the infection.

  3. Chickenpox: Sometimes used to treat chickenpox, especially in children or those with weakened immune systems.

Side Effects:
