Used For:

  1. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Viltin-Met helps control blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes by combining two different mechanisms:
    • Glimepiride (50mg): Stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin and improves insulin sensitivity.
    • Metformin (500mg): Reduces glucose production in the liver and increases insulin sensitivity.

Side Effects:

Common side effects of Viltin-Met may include:

  • Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar): Symptoms include shaking, sweating, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, or confusion. Severe cases can require immediate treatment.
  • Nausea or Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Abdominal Pain
  • Headache

  • Weight Gain

Serious side effects (seek immediate medical attention):

  • Lactic Acidosis: A rare but serious condition associated with metformin, characterized by muscle pain, difficulty breathing, abdominal discomfort, and unusual tiredness.
