Used For:

• Depression: Venlafaxine is primarily prescribed to treat major depressive disorder (MDD) by helping to relieve symptoms like persistent sadness, loss of interest, and low energy.
• Anxiety Disorders: It is effective for managing generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder (SAD), and panic disorder, helping reduce excessive worry and anxiety.
• Other Uses: Venlafaxine is sometimes used to treat fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and neuropathic pain, as it can also affect the pain pathways in the brain.

Side Effects:

• Common: Nausea, dry mouth, dizziness, insomnia, increased sweating, and sexual dysfunction.
• Serious: High blood pressure (especially at higher doses), suicidal thoughts or behavior, serotonin syndrome (symptoms include confusion, rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, muscle stiffness).
• Other: Withdrawal symptoms (e.g., dizziness, irritability, headache) if stopped suddenly.

Precautions:
