Common side effects may include:

  • Dizziness or Lightheadedness: Particularly when standing up quickly.

  • Nausea or Stomach Discomfort
  • Skin Rash or Itching

Serious side effects (seek immediate medical attention):

Precautions:

  2. Allergies: Disclose any allergies, especially to enalapril or other ACE inhibitors.
  3. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Trupril is not recommended during pregnancy as it may harm the fetus. It is also advised to avoid this medication while breastfeeding unless deemed necessary by a healthcare provider.
  4. Drug Interactions: Trupril can interact with other medications, including other antihypertensives, diuretics, NSAIDs, and potassium supplements. Discuss all medications you are taking with your healthcare provider.
  5. Monitoring: Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels is important while on this medication.
  6. Alcohol and Smoking: Limit alcohol consumption, as it can enhance the blood pressure-lowering effects and increase dizziness. Smoking can reduce the effectiveness of the medication.
