Used For:
Terlip 1mg I.V. Injection contains terlipressin, a synthetic analog of vasopressin (antidiuretic hormone). It is used to:
- Treat conditions related to portal hypertension, such as variceal bleeding (bleeding from enlarged veins in the esophagus or stomach due to liver cirrhosis).
- Manage acute bleeding in patients with esophageal varices.
- Sometimes used in the treatment of certain types of shock, including septic shock, by constricting blood vessels and increasing blood pressure.
Side Effects:
Common side effects of Terlip 1mg I.V. may include:
- Nausea or vomiting
- Abdominal pain
- Headache
- Hypertension (increased blood pressure)
- Blanching or pallor
Less common but serious side effects may include:
- Severe cardiovascular effects, such as angina or myocardial infarction (heart attack)
