Used For:
Oxcarbazepine is an anticonvulsant medication used to:

• Treat partial seizures in adults and children with epilepsy, as monotherapy or adjunct therapy.
• Manage bipolar disorder (off-label use in some cases).

It works by stabilizing electrical activity in the brain, reducing the frequency of seizures or mood disturbances.

Side Effects:
Common side effects:

• Dizziness.
• Drowsiness or fatigue.
• Nausea or vomiting.
• Headache.
• Double vision (diplopia) or blurred vision.
• Tremor or difficulty with coordination.

Less common but serious side effects:

• Hyponatremia (low sodium levels): Symptoms include confusion, seizures, nausea, and fatigue.
• Allergic reactions or serious skin rashes (e.g., Stevens-Johnson Syndrome).
• Mood changes, irritability, or suicidal thoughts.
