Used For:

• Escitalopram is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used to treat depression, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder.
• It is sometimes prescribed for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in some cases.

Side Effects:

• Common Side Effects: Nausea, insomnia, dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, sexual dysfunction (e.g., reduced libido, difficulty achieving orgasm), and increased sweating.
• Serious Side Effects: Serotonin syndrome (a rare but serious condition that can cause symptoms like agitation, hallucinations, fever, rapid heart rate, and muscle stiffness), suicidal thoughts (especially in young adults), severe allergic reactions, low sodium levels (leading to confusion, weakness), and bleeding problems.

Precautions:
