Used For:

Sorafenib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) used to treat certain types of cancer by blocking tumor growth and blood vessel formation. It is prescribed for:

• Liver Cancer (Hepatocellular Carcinoma, HCC)
• Kidney Cancer (Renal Cell Carcinoma, RCC)
• Thyroid Cancer (Differentiated Thyroid Cancer, DTC)

Side Effects:

• Common:

  • Fatigue, weakness
  • Nausea, diarrhea
  • Loss of appetite
  • High blood pressure
  • Hand-foot syndrome (redness, swelling, pain on palms & soles)
  • Rash, dry skin, hair thinning

• Serious (but rare):

  • Severe bleeding
  • Heart problems (chest pain, heart attack risk)
  • Liver toxicity (yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine)
  • Severe skin reactions (blistering, peeling)
  • Low blood cell counts (risk of infections)

Precautions:
