Used For:

  • Inflammatory and Autoimmune Conditions: This corticosteroid is used to reduce inflammation and suppress the immune system in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, and severe allergic reactions.
  • Severe Allergies and Asthma: It can help manage severe allergic reactions, asthma exacerbations, and other inflammatory lung conditions.
  • Endocrine Disorders: Sometimes used to treat adrenal insufficiency (e.g., Addison's disease) when the body doesn't produce enough steroids.
  • Skin and Eye Conditions: Used to treat inflammatory skin and eye diseases.

Side Effects:

  • Common Side Effects: Nausea, stomach pain, headache, trouble sleeping (insomnia), and increased appetite.
