Product Description
Product Name: Solosin Sr Capsules 0.4mg
Product Form: Capsules
Pack Size: 20's
Manufactured By: High-Q Pharma
Used For:
- Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Tamsulosin is an alpha-blocker used to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate in men. It helps relax the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate. It reduces symptoms like difficulty starting urination, weak stream, and the need to urinate frequently or urgently.
Side Effects:
- Common Side Effects: Dizziness, lightheadedness (especially when getting up quickly), drowsiness, runny or stuffy nose, and ejaculation problems.
- Less Common: Back pain, diarrhea, and headache.
- Serious Side Effects: Rarely, it may cause low blood pressure, fainting, or severe allergic reactions (swelling of the face, lips, or throat, or difficulty breathing). In very rare cases, it may lead to a condition called priapism (painful, prolonged erection), which requires immediate medical attention.
Precautions:
- Orthostatic Hypotension: Tamsulosin may cause a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing up quickly. Move slowly from sitting or lying positions to prevent dizziness.
- Eye Surgery (Cataracts/Glaucoma): Inform your surgeon if you are taking tamsulosin, as it may affect the eyes during cataract or glaucoma surgery.
- Liver or Kidney Conditions: Those with severe liver or kidney issues should use tamsulosin with caution and may require dose adjustments.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Tamsulosin is generally prescribed only for men, so it’s not typically a concern for pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Interactions with Other Medications: Avoid taking tamsulosin with other alpha-blockers or medications that lower blood pressure unless instructed by a doctor, as this can increase the risk of hypotension.
