Used For:

• Allergies: Primarily used to relieve symptoms of allergies, including sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and itchy throat or nose.
• Chronic Urticaria (Hives): Helps reduce itching and the appearance of hives on the skin.
• Cold Symptoms: Sometimes used to alleviate symptoms similar to those of a cold, although it does not treat the cold itself.

Side Effects:

• Common Side Effects: Headache, drowsiness (although less likely compared to older antihistamines), dry mouth, and fatigue.
• Less Common: Dizziness, nausea, stomach pain, or rash.
• Severe Reactions: Rarely, loratadine may cause severe allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, and hives.
