Product Description
Product Name: Sofac Gel 20g
Product Form: Gel
Pack Size: 20g
Manufactured By: Saffron Pharmaceuticals
Used For:
- Skin Inflammation: Sofac Topical Gel is commonly prescribed for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and allergic reactions.
- Itching: It helps to relieve itching associated with these skin conditions, providing symptomatic relief and improving the overall comfort of the affected area.
- Redness and Swelling: Sofac Gel can also help reduce redness, swelling, and irritation caused by various skin disorders.
Side Effects:
- Skin Atrophy: Prolonged use of Sofac Gel, especially on large areas of the body or under occlusive dressings, may lead to skin thinning (atrophy), which can make the skin more susceptible to damage and bruising.
- Skin Sensitization: Some individuals may experience skin sensitization or allergic reactions to the active ingredient Clobetasol, leading to symptoms such as rash, itching, burning, or stinging.
- Telangiectasia: Long-term use of corticosteroids like Clobetasol may cause the appearance of small blood vessels near the surface of the skin (telangiectasia).
- Hypopigmentation or Hyperpigmentation: Changes in skin pigmentation, such as lightening (hypopigmentation) or darkening (hyperpigmentation) of the skin, may occur with prolonged use of Sofac Gel.
- Infections: Corticosteroids can suppress the immune system, potentially increasing the risk of developing skin infections, particularly fungal or bacterial infections.
Precautions:
- Limited Use: Sofac Gel should be used sparingly and for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms. Prolonged or excessive use can increase the risk of adverse effects.
- Avoid Contact with Eyes: Take care to avoid getting Sofac Gel into the eyes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
- Not for Open Wounds: Sofac Gel should not be applied to open wounds, broken skin, or areas with active infections, as it may increase absorption and potentially worsen the condition.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Use of Sofac Gel during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be done under medical supervision, as systemic absorption of corticosteroids may pose risks to the fetus or infant.
- Children and Elderly: Use caution when applying Sofac Gel to children or elderly individuals, as they may be more susceptible to systemic absorption and adverse effects.
Always use Sofac Gel as directed by your healthcare provider and follow the instructions provided on the medication label. If you experience any concerning side effects or have any questions or concerns, consult your doctor.
