Used For:

  1. Treats symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) – enlarged prostate.

  2. Helps improve urine flow and reduce urgency, frequency, and straining.

  3. Relaxes muscles in the prostate and bladder neck.

  4. Does not shrink the prostate—works by easing urinary symptoms.

  5. Typically taken once daily.

Side Effects:

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness (especially when standing up)

  • Retrograde ejaculation (semen flows backward)

  • Diarrhea

  • Nasal congestion

  • Low blood pressure (rare)

Precaution:

  • Take at the same time each day, preferably with food.

  • Rise slowly from sitting/lying positions to avoid dizziness.

  • Not for use in women or children.

  • Inform your doctor before cataract surgery (risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome).

  • Use with caution if you have liver or kidney issues.
