Used For:

Letrozole is an aromatase inhibitor primarily used for:

• Breast Cancer Treatment (Postmenopausal Women)

  • Treats hormone receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer.
  • Used after surgery (adjuvant therapy) or for metastatic cancer.

• Fertility Treatment (Off-Label Use)

  • Induces ovulation in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or unexplained infertility.
  • Alternative to Clomiphene (Clomid) in ovulation induction.

Side Effects:

• Common:

  • Hot flashes
  • Fatigue, dizziness
  • Joint/muscle pain
  • Nausea
  • Sweating, night sweats

• Serious (but rare):

  • Osteoporosis (bone thinning, fractures)
  • Increased cholesterol levels
  • Depression or mood swings
  • Liver dysfunction (yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine)

Precautions:
