Used For:

Ciprofloxacin HCl is an antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It is effective against respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and certain types of gastrointestinal infections. It belongs to the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and abdominal pain. Serious side effects can include tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, central nervous system effects (such as seizures), and an increased risk of Clostridium difficile infection. Allergic reactions, although rare, can occur.

Precautions:

Ciprofloxacin should be used with caution in individuals with a history of tendon disorders, myasthenia gravis, or those with a history of seizures. It is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary.
