Used For:

Amlodipine and Valsartan are combined in a medication often used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, improving blood flow, while Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that also helps to lower blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and preventing the narrowing effect of angiotensin II.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, flushing, and swelling (edema), particularly in the hands, feet, and ankles. Some individuals may experience fatigue, nausea, or abdominal pain. Serious but rare side effects include severe hypotension, liver problems, or an increase in potassium levels (hyperkalemia).

Precautions:

This combination should be used cautiously in individuals with a history of kidney or liver disease. It’s important to avoid excessive potassium intake, as Valsartan can increase potassium levels in the body.
