Used For: 

Tobramycin is an antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections, particularly those caused by Gram-negative bacteria. In ophthalmic formulations, it is commonly used to treat eye infections such as conjunctivitis and keratitis. It may also be used in inhalation form to treat lung infections in cystic fibrosis patients.

Side Effects:

  • Eye irritation (for ophthalmic use)

  • Blurred vision

  • Headache (oral or inhalation forms)

  • Nausea

  • Rare: Allergic reactions or severe respiratory issues (inhalation form)

Precautions:

  • Inform your healthcare provider if you have a history of kidney problems or allergies to aminoglycoside antibiotics.
