Used For:

Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections, particularly those in the eyes, such as conjunctivitis and other eye infections. In some cases, it may also be used for serious systemic infections when other antibiotics are ineffective or contraindicated.

Side Effects:

  • Eye irritation (when used as eye drops)

  • Temporary blurred vision

  • Rare: Bone marrow suppression, which may lead to anemia

  • Rare: Allergic reactions, such as rash or itching

Precautions:
