Used For:

• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) – Helps control blood sugar levels when diet and exercise alone are not enough.
• Can be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic drugs like Metformin, DPP-4 inhibitors, or SGLT2 inhibitors.

Side Effects:

• Common:

  • Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) – Symptoms: Sweating, dizziness, shaking, confusion
  • Nausea or stomach discomfort
  • Mild weight gain
  • Headache

• Serious (Less Common):

  • Severe hypoglycemia – If not treated, may lead to unconsciousness or seizures
  • Allergic reactions – Rash, itching, swelling
  • Liver problems – Yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine
  • Blood disorders (rare) – Low red or white blood cell count

Precautions:

• Not for Type 1 Diabetes or Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA).
