Used For:

  • Depression: Escitalopram is frequently used to treat major depressive disorder, helping improve mood, sleep, energy, and appetite.
  • Anxiety Disorders: It’s also effective for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), by reducing symptoms like excessive worry, panic attacks, and compulsive behaviors.

Side Effects:

  • Common Side Effects: These may include nausea, dry mouth, drowsiness, insomnia, sweating, dizziness, and sexual side effects (such as reduced libido).
