Product Description

Product Name: Nebix Tablets 10mg

Product Form: Tablets

Pack Size: 14's

Manufactured By: Highnoon Laboratories

Used For:

  1. Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): Nebivolol is prescribed to lower blood pressure, which helps reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.
  2. Heart Failure: It may also be used in the management of stable heart failure to improve heart function and reduce symptoms.
  3. Angina Pectoris: Sometimes, nebivolol is used to manage angina (chest pain) by reducing the heart's workload and oxygen demand.

Nebivolol works by blocking beta-1 adrenergic receptors in the heart, leading to:

  • A decrease in heart rate and contractility (the strength of the heart's contractions).
  • Vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) due to its additional action of increasing nitric oxide production, which can help lower blood pressure.

Side Effects:

Nebivolol is generally well tolerated, but some side effects may occur, including:

  • Common Side Effects:

    • Fatigue or tiredness
    • Dizziness or lightheadedness
    • Headache
    • Nausea
    • Diarrhea
    • Sleep disturbances

    • Allergic Reactions: Rarely, it may cause serious allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, or swelling.

Precautions:

  1. Medical History: Inform your healthcare provider about any history of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), liver disease, or heart block.

  2. Caution in Patients with Heart Conditions: Use cautiously in patients with heart conditions, as it may exacerbate symptoms.

  3. Gradual Discontinuation: Do not abruptly stop taking nebivolol without consulting your healthcare provider, as this can lead to rebound hypertension or worsening of heart conditions.

  4. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Discuss with your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. The safety of nebivolol during these times should be evaluated.

  5. Drug Interactions: Nebivolol may interact with other medications, including other antihypertensives, medications that affect heart rate, and certain antidepressants. Always inform your healthcare provider about all medications and supplements you are taking.

  6. Monitoring: Regular monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate is important while on nebivolol.
