Respiratory Tract Infections:
- Community-acquired pneumonia
- Acute bacterial sinusitis
- Acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
- Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Effective for treating complicated skin infections such as cellulitis and abscesses.
- Intra-abdominal Infections: Used for complicated intra-abdominal infections, including peritonitis.
- Bacterial Conjunctivitis: Although Moxifloxacin is also available as eye drops, the tablet form is used for systemic infections.
- Complicated Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Occasionally prescribed for severe or complicated UTIs.
Side Effects:
Common side effects may include:
- Nausea or Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Abdominal Pain
Serious but rare side effects:
- Tendon Rupture or Tendonitis: Higher risk in older adults and those on corticosteroids.
