Used For:

Misar-AM 40mg/10mg Tablets are a combination medication containing two active ingredients: Telmisartan (40 mg) and Amlodipine (10 mg). This combination is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension).

  1. Telmisartan (40 mg):

    • An angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that helps to relax blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and lowering blood pressure.

  2. Amlodipine (10 mg):

    • A calcium channel blocker (CCB) that helps to relax and widen blood vessels, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Swelling of the ankles or feet (edema)
  • Flushing (warmth, redness, or tingling feeling)
  • Fatigue
  • Headache

Serious side effects (seek medical attention if these occur):

  • Severe dizziness or fainting
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Persistent nausea or vomiting
  • Signs of an allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing)

Precautions:

  • Medications: Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, and herbal supplements. This medication can interact with other drugs, particularly other blood pressure medications, diuretics, and potassium supplements.
  • Driving and Operating Machinery: This medication may cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how the medication affects you.
  • Lifestyle and Diet: Follow a proper diet and exercise regimen as recommended by your healthcare provider. Avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes unless your doctor has advised otherwise.
