Used For:

• Secondary Hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) – In patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on dialysis.
• Hypercalcemia – In patients with parathyroid carcinoma.
• Primary Hyperparathyroidism – In cases where surgery is not an option.

Side Effects:

• Common Side Effects:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea

  • Muscle pain

• Serious Side Effects (Rare but possible):

  • Low calcium levels (hypocalcemia) – Can cause muscle cramps, numbness, or seizures.
