Used For:

• Severe bacterial infections, including:
  • Pneumonia (including hospital-acquired and ventilator-associated pneumonia)
  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), including complicated cases
  • Intra-abdominal infections (e.g., peritonitis, appendicitis)
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Meningitis (infections of the brain and spinal cord)
  • Sepsis (blood infections)

Side Effects:

• Common:

  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Headache
  • Rash or itching

• Serious (Less Common):

  • Severe allergic reactions – Swelling, breathing difficulty
  • Seizures (more common in patients with kidney disease or brain infections)
  • Clostridium difficile infection – Severe diarrhea
  • Liver dysfunction – Yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine

Precautions:
