  • Post-Surgical Infections: Can be used to prevent or manage infections and inflammation after eye or ear surgeries.

Side Effects:

While generally safe, potential side effects may include:

  • Mild irritation or discomfort at the application site (eye or ear).
  • Temporary blurred vision (if used in the eye).
  • Increased eye pressure (from the corticosteroid).
  • Itching, redness, or swelling.
  • Delayed wound healing (due to the steroid component).

Rare but more serious side effects can include:

  • Allergic reactions: Rash, severe itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
  • Secondary infections: Prolonged use of corticosteroids can increase the risk of secondary bacterial or fungal infections.

Precautions:

  • Consult a Doctor: If you have a history of allergic reactions to Ofloxacin, Dexamethasone, or other antibiotics/corticosteroids.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your healthcare provider before using if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Avoid Long-Term Use: Prolonged use of corticosteroids can lead to side effects like increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma) or cataracts.
  • Contact Lens Use: Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment for eye infections.
  • Complete the Course: Even if symptoms improve, finish the full course to ensure the infection is fully treated.
  • Eye Pressure Monitoring: If using long-term, your doctor may monitor your eye pressure to prevent issues like glaucoma.
