Side Effects
Common side effects of Maxolon (Metoclopramide) may include:
- Drowsiness or Fatigue: This is a common side effect, and patients should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until they know how the medication affects them.
- Restlessness or Agitation: Some individuals may experience a feeling of restlessness or nervousness (known as akathisia).
- Dizziness or Headache: Mild headaches or dizziness may occur.

- Neurological Disorders: Individuals with a history of movement disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease, should use metoclopramide cautiously as it may worsen symptoms.
- Depression: Metoclopramide may worsen depression or cause suicidal thoughts in some individuals. If you have a history of depression, notify your healthcare provider before starting the medication.
- Kidney or Liver Disease: If you have kidney or liver problems, dosage adjustments may be necessary, and your doctor may want to monitor your condition closely.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Maxolon is generally considered safe during pregnancy for managing nausea, but it should only be used under a doctor’s guidance. It can pass into breast milk, so consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding.
