- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Ofloxacin is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential risks to the baby. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Kidney Disease: Patients with kidney disease may need dosage adjustments, as ofloxacin is excreted through the kidneys.
- Seizure Disorders: Patients with a history of seizures or other neurological conditions should use ofloxacin cautiously, as it may increase the risk of seizures.
- Photosensitivity: Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or UV light, as ofloxacin can increase sensitivity to sunlight, causing sunburn or skin reactions.
- Drug Interactions: Inform your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, especially antacids containing magnesium or aluminum, sucralfate, iron supplements, or multivitamins, as these can interfere with the absorption of ofloxacin.
