Used For:

  • Bacterial Infections: Maclacin is commonly prescribed for:
    • Respiratory Tract Infections: Such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinusitis.
    • Ear Infections: Otitis media.
    • Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Including cellulitis, abscesses, and other skin infections.
    • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Such as cystitis and pyelonephritis.
    • Dental Infections: Infections following dental procedures or abscesses.
    • Gastrointestinal Infections: Certain infections caused by Helicobacter pylori (often in combination with other medications).

Side Effects:

  • Common:
    • Nausea

  • Serious (but rare):
