Used For:

• Severe bacterial infections, especially drug-resistant ones, including:
  • Pneumonia (hospital-acquired & community-acquired)
  • Skin & soft tissue infections (including MRSA-related infections)
  • Bloodstream infections
  • Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE) infections
  • Drug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) (off-label use)

• Serious Side Effects (Long-term use or high doses):

  • Bone marrow suppression (low platelets, anemia) – Risk increases with use >2 weeks

  • Serotonin syndrome – If taken with SSRIs, antidepressants, or certain painkillers
