Used For:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): Labetalol is used to manage high blood pressure in general and during pregnancy (e.g., for gestational hypertension or preeclampsia).
• Hypertensive Emergencies: In an intravenous form, it is sometimes used in emergencies to quickly lower dangerously high blood pressure.
• Angina (Off-Label Use): Occasionally used off-label to relieve chest pain due to angina by reducing the heart’s workload.

Side Effects:

• Common Side Effects: These include dizziness, fatigue, nausea, upset stomach, and tingling sensation in the scalp.
