Used For:

Levosulpiride is primarily used to treat gastrointestinal disorders and, in some cases, psychiatric conditions. Common uses include:

  1. Gastrointestinal Issues:

    • Functional dyspepsia: Indigestion or discomfort in the upper abdomen.
    • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): Alleviates symptoms like bloating, pain, and constipation.
    • Gastroparesis: A condition where the stomach empties slowly, leading to nausea and vomiting.
  2. Psychiatric Disorders (at higher doses):

    • Schizophrenia: Used as an adjunct to antipsychotic treatment.
    • Depression: In some cases, used for treatment-resistant depression, although it is not a first-line therapy.

Side Effects:

  • Gastrointestinal:
