Used For:

• Bacterial Infections, including:
  • Respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis).
  • Skin and soft tissue infections.
  • Ear infections (otitis media).
  • Certain sexually transmitted infections (e.g., chlamydia, gonorrhea).
  • Helicobacter pylori infection (as part of combination therapy).
  • Traveler’s diarrhea.
  • Mycobacterial infections (Mycobacterium avium complex, particularly in HIV patients).

• Gastrointestinal:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain

• General:

  • Headache
  • Fatigue

• Less Common but Serious:

  • Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling).
  • Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.
  • Liver dysfunction (jaundice, elevated liver enzymes).
  • Prolonged QT interval, leading to arrhythmias (rare but serious).

1. Medical History:

2. QT Prolongation Risk:
