Used For:
- Myelofibrosis (MF): Treatment for intermediate or high-risk myelofibrosis, a type of bone marrow cancer that disrupts the body’s ability to produce blood cells.
- Polycythemia Vera (PV): Indicated for patients with PV who have had an inadequate response to or are intolerant of hydroxyurea.
- Graft-versus-Host Disease (GVHD): Approved for treatment in adult and pediatric patients 12 years and older with steroid-refractory acute GVHD and chronic GVHD after the failure of one or two lines of systemic therapy.
Side Effects:
- Thrombocytopenia: Reduced platelet count, increasing the risk of bleeding.
- Anemia: Lowered red blood cell count, potentially leading to fatigue and weakness.
- Neutropenia: Decrease in white blood cells, increasing the risk of infections.
- Bruising and Bleeding: Related to lower platelet counts.
