Used For:

  • Functional Dyspepsia: Helps relieve symptoms such as bloating, nausea, and stomach discomfort often related to slow gastric emptying.
  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Itopride can improve gastric emptying, potentially reducing the reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus.
  • Other Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders: Sometimes used for gastroparesis and other conditions where impaired gut movement contributes to symptoms.

Side Effects:

  • Common Side Effects:
    • Headache
    • Diarrhea or loose stools
    • Abdominal pain
    • Dizziness
  • Less Common but Serious Side Effects:
    • Elevated Liver Enzymes: Rarely, it may cause mild liver function abnormalities.
    • Blood Disorders: In very rare cases, it can affect blood cell counts, leading to symptoms like fatigue and easy bruising.

Precautions:
