- Iron overload (symptoms may include fatigue, joint pain, and abdominal pain), especially in patients with pre-existing conditions like hemochromatosis.
If any severe side effects occur, discontinue use and seek immediate medical attention.
Precautions:
- Allergies: Do not use Indofer if you are allergic to ferrous fumarate or any other component in the formulation.
- Medical Conditions: Inform your healthcare provider if you have any medical conditions, particularly hemochromatosis, hemolytic anemia, or liver disease, as iron supplements may not be appropriate.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Indofer is generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but it’s advisable to consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice.
- Drug Interactions: Certain medications (e.g., antacids, calcium supplements, or some antibiotics) can interfere with iron absorption. Inform your healthcare provider about all medications and supplements you are taking.
- Dosing: Follow the prescribed dosage instructions carefully. Taking more than the recommended dose can lead to serious side effects, including iron toxicity.
