Used For:

  • Organ Transplantation: Used to prevent organ rejection in patients who have received a kidney, liver, or heart transplant by suppressing the immune system.
  • Autoimmune Diseases: Helps manage conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), and autoimmune hepatitis by reducing immune system activity.

Side Effects:
