Icef 100mg/5ml Syrup is an antibiotic medication primarily used for the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is effective against infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and certain types of gastrointestinal infections. The syrup formulation is especially useful for children or individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets.

Side Effects:

While Icef Syrup is generally well-tolerated, some individuals may experience side effects, including:

  • Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal pain)
  • Allergic reactions (such as rash, itching, or swelling)
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Changes in taste or oral discomfort

If you experience severe side effects or signs of an allergic reaction (such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, lips, or throat), seek medical attention immediately.

Precautions:

  • Consult your healthcare provider before using Icef Syrup if you have a history of allergies to antibiotics, particularly penicillins or cephalosporins.
  • Shake the bottle well before use and measure the dose accurately using a suitable measuring device.
  • Complete the full course of the antibiotic as prescribed, even if symptoms improve before finishing the medication.
  • Monitor for signs of superinfection, such as new or worsening symptoms, as prolonged use of antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women should discuss the use of this medication with their healthcare provider to ensure safety.
  • Store the syrup in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, and keep out of reach of children.
  • Avoid taking Icef with certain medications, including antacids, as they may interfere with absorption. It is advisable to space these out by at least 2 hours.
