Used For:

Iboxime 400mg Capsules are primarily used as an antibiotic for the treatment of various bacterial infections. This medication is effective against a range of infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and certain types of gastroenteritis. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, ultimately leading to the death of the bacteria.

Side Effects:

While Iboxime is generally well-tolerated, some individuals may experience side effects, including:

  • Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal pain)
  • Allergic reactions (such as rash, itching, or swelling)
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Fatigue or weakness

If you experience severe side effects or signs of an allergic reaction (such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, lips, or throat), seek medical attention immediately.

Precautions:

  • Consult your healthcare provider before using Iboxime if you have a history of allergies to antibiotics, particularly penicillins or cephalosporins.
  • Ensure that you complete the full course of the antibiotic as prescribed, even if you start to feel better before finishing the medication.
  • Monitor for signs of superinfection, such as new or worsening symptoms, as prolonged use of antibiotics can lead to the growth of resistant bacteria.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women should discuss the use of this medication with their healthcare provider to weigh the risks and benefits.
  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, and keep out of reach of children.
  • Avoid taking Iboxime with certain medications, including antacids or medications containing iron, as they may interfere with absorption. It is recommended to space these out by at least 2 hours.
