Used For:

  • Reducing elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in conditions such as:
    • Open-angle glaucoma
    • Ocular hypertension

Side Effects:

  • Burning or stinging in the eyes
  • Blurred vision or dry eyes
  • Eye redness or irritation
  • Bitter taste in the mouth
  • Headache or dizziness
  • Rarely, systemic side effects like slow heart rate, low blood pressure, or breathing difficulties

Precautions:

  • Avoid in patients with:
    • Severe asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
    • Severe heart block or heart failure
  • Use cautiously in patients with kidney or liver problems.
  • Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.
  • Remove contact lenses before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use it only under medical supervision.
  • Regular monitoring of intraocular pressure is essential.
