Used For:

• Type 2 Diabetes Management – Helps lower blood sugar levels when diet and exercise alone are insufficient.
• Metformin HCl (Biguanide):
  • Reduces glucose production in the liver.
  • Improves insulin sensitivity.
• Sitagliptin (DPP-4 Inhibitor):
  • Increases insulin secretion after meals.
  • Lowers glucagon levels to reduce blood sugar spikes.

Side Effects:

• Common:

  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Stomach discomfort, bloating
  • Headache

• Serious (Less Common):

  • Lactic Acidosis (Metformin-related, rare but serious) – Symptoms: Weakness, muscle pain, breathing difficulty
  • Pancreatitis (Sitagliptin-related) – Symptoms: Severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting
  • Kidney problems – Swelling in legs, changes in urination
