Used For:

• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) – Helps lower blood sugar when diet and exercise are insufficient.
• May help reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications (e.g., nerve damage, kidney disease).

Side Effects:

• Common:

  • Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) – Symptoms: Sweating, dizziness, shakiness, hunger
  • Weight gain
  • Nausea, stomach discomfort
  • Headache

• Serious (Less Common):

  • Severe hypoglycemia – May cause unconsciousness or seizures (if overdosed or combined with other antidiabetics)
  • Liver problems – Symptoms: Yellowing of skin (jaundice), dark urine
  • Allergic reactions – Rash, itching, swelling
  • Blood disorders (rare) – Unusual bleeding, infections, or bruising
