Used For:

• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) – Helps lower blood sugar levels when diet and exercise are insufficient.
• May reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications, such as eye and kidney damage.

Side Effects:

• Common:

  • Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) – Symptoms: Sweating, dizziness, confusion, shakiness
  • Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort
  • Headache or dizziness
  • Weight gain

• Serious (Less Common):

  • Severe hypoglycemia – Loss of consciousness, seizures (if overdosed or combined with other antidiabetics)
  • Liver problems – Symptoms: Yellowing of the skin (jaundice), dark urine
