  • Heals erosive esophagitis caused by stomach acid

  • Reduces stomach acid in Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

  • Prevents and treats peptic and gastric ulcers

  • Used for long-term acid suppression

Side Effects:

  • Headache, diarrhea, nausea

  • Abdominal pain, gas

  • Long-term use: risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, low magnesium, or bone fractures
