Pack Size: 15g
Manufactured By Life Pharmaceuticals
Used For:
- Bacterial Skin Infections: Fusidic acid is commonly used topically to treat various bacterial skin infections, such as impetigo, infected eczema, folliculitis, and infected wounds. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thus preventing the growth of bacteria.
- Eye Infections: Fusidic acid is sometimes used in the form of eye drops to treat bacterial eye infections, such as conjunctivitis.
Side Effects:
Fusidic acid is generally considered safe for topical use, but side effects can occur in some cases. Common side effects include:
- Skin irritation: Redness, itching, or burning at the site of application.
- Allergic reaction: Rash, swelling, or hives (less common).
- Contact dermatitis: An inflammatory skin condition that can cause redness, swelling, and itching.
Serious side effects are rare but may include:
- Severe allergic reactions: If you experience severe itching, swelling, dizziness, or difficulty breathing, seek medical help immediately.
If any unusual reactions occur, stop using the product and consult a healthcare provider.
Precautions:
- Avoid Contact with Eyes: Fusidic acid should not be applied near the eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
- Do Not Use on Open Wounds: It's typically advised to avoid using Fusidic acid on large open wounds or broken skin unless directed by a doctor.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is generally considered safe for topical use, but it's important to consult a healthcare provider for advice.
- Allergies: If you are allergic to Fusidic acid or any other ingredient in the cream, avoid its use.
- Prolonged Use: Prolonged use of Fusidic acid may lead to resistance in bacteria, so it is generally recommended to use it for short periods or as prescribed by a healthcare provider.
