Used For:

  • Fluorometholone: A corticosteroid used to treat inflammation of the eyes caused by allergies, surgery, or injury.
  • Tetrahydrozoline HCl: A decongestant that relieves eye redness caused by minor irritations, such as dust, smoke, or allergens.

 

Side Effects:

  • Fluorometholone:
    • Common: Temporary stinging or burning sensation in the eyes.
    • Serious: Increased intraocular pressure, cataract formation with prolonged use, secondary infections.
  • Tetrahydrozoline HCl:
    • Common: Mild burning or irritation in the eyes.
    • Serious: Eye pain, vision changes, or severe redness that persists.

 

Precautions:

  • Avoid prolonged use of Fluorometholone, as it can lead to increased intraocular pressure or cataracts.
  • Tetrahydrozoline HCl should not be used for more than 72 hours to avoid rebound redness.
  • Not suitable for individuals with glaucoma or ocular hypertension without medical supervision.
  • Do not use while wearing contact lenses unless directed by a healthcare provider.
  • Ensure proper hygiene when applying to avoid contamination of the dropper or ointment
