Used For:

  • Relief of symptoms associated with colds, allergies, and nasal congestion, including:
    • Runny nose.
    • Nasal congestion.
    • Sneezing.
    • Itchy or watery eyes.

 

Side Effects:

  • Common: Drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, nausea, headache.
  • Serious: Increased heart rate, palpitations, difficulty breathing, severe allergic reactions, urinary retention (especially in men with prostate problems).

 

Precautions:

  • Drowsiness: May impair ability to operate machinery or drive.
  • Hypertension and Heart Disease: Use cautiously due to pseudoephedrine’s potential to increase blood pressure.
  • Glaucoma: Can worsen symptoms in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma.
  • Urinary Retention: Risk is higher in older males with prostate conditions.
  • Combination Use: Avoid alcohol or other sedative medications while on this combination.
  • Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women without consulting a healthcare provider.
