Used For:

  • Treatment of mild-to-moderate depression and anxiety disorders

  • Management of mixed anxiety-depressive symptoms

  • Improvement of apathy and low motivation (due to flupentixol component)

Side Effects:

  • Common: Dry mouth, dizziness, constipation

  • Occasional: Restlessness, sleep disturbances, mild tremors

  • Rare but serious: Extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS), cardiac arrhythmias

Precautions:

  • Contraindicated in patients with Parkinson’s disease or glaucoma

  • Use with caution in elderly patients (risk of falls/sedation)

  • Avoid alcohol (CNS depression risk)

  • Gradual withdrawal required (risk of rebound symptoms)
