Used For:


Piroxicam-B-Cyclodextrin is a formulation of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) piroxicam combined with beta-cyclodextrin to enhance solubility and absorption. It is used for:

  • Pain relief in conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
  • Management of musculoskeletal pain and inflammation.

 

Side Effects:

  • Stomach upset, nausea, or indigestion
  • Dizziness or headache
  • Gastrointestinal irritation or ulcers with long-term use
  • Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling)
  • Rarely, liver or kidney issues

 

Precautions:

  • Avoid use in patients with allergic reactions to NSAIDs, active ulcers, or gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Use cautiously in those with a history of cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, or liver issues.
  • Take with food or after meals to reduce stomach irritation.
  • Avoid use in pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, unless advised by a doctor.
